Rejected by His Mom and Siblings, This Tiny Kitten Found Safety With an Unexpected Friend
A few experiences feel as rewarding as watching a shy, neglected, or overlooked animal thrive under your care as a foster. When you foster a pet who’s had a rough start to life, witnessing their transformation heals you in ways you never thought possible. Tracy’s recent foster was a runt kitten, Weewoo, who arrived in her home weighing only 0.5 pounds.
Being the runt of the litter, Weewoo was the smallest and most overlooked among his siblings. Weewoo hardly experienced motherly love since his mom would often shove him aside, not out of cruelty, but because her instincts forced her to focus on her stronger babies. As a result, Weewoo missed out on the nourishment, warmth, and comfort of a mother.
Wewoo also experienced rejection from his siblings during playtime. Unfortunately, this affected his confidence and social skills. When @tracyfosterling took in Weewoo, she knew without a doubt that this fragile soul needed lots of help to flourish.

A Bond to Admire
From the very beginning, @tracyfosterling knew Weewoo needed more than just nourishing meals. Beyond helping him gain a healthy weight, Weewoo also needed to feel wanted & chosen for the sake of his confidence. And so, @tracyfosterling decided to introduce Weewoo to her other foster adult dog, Lilly, a Great Pyrenees.
As @tracyfosterling revealed in a heartwarming TikTok video, Lilly has a soft spot for kittens. This made it easy for Lilly to welcome Weewoo into her space without hesitation.
Lilly and Weewoo’s bond became noticeable from the moment they met. Weewoo instantly felt safe around Lilly, something he hadn’t experienced since birth. He’d climb on top of Lilly and nap there, play with her fur, paw at her face, and mischievously nudge her toes. To Weewoo, Lilly’s gentle and steady presence felt like the green light he desperately needed to come out of his shell.
What’s even more touching is that Lilly never seemed bothered or annoyed by Weewoo’s closeness. He’d remain gentle and patient toward Weewoo at all times, no matter how playful he got around her. It’s as though Lilly understood that Weewoo craved some semblance of motherly love. For the first time, Weewoo felt wanted instead of invisible.
As days went by, @tracyfosterling began to notice Weewoo moving with more confidence. His daily interaction with Lilly made him bolder, more trusting, and more social. Weewoo even started eating more and gaining weight. Bonding with Lilly healed Weewoo physically and emotionally, too. Eventually, this entire experience transformed Weewoo into an adoption-ready kitten.
Off to a New Chapter
After a few weeks in his foster home, Weewoo is now ready for the next chapter in a forever home. Thanks to @tracyfosterling, Weewoo received the foundation he initially missed out on. He’s no longer the shy, underweight runt kitten who doesn’t know what love, warmth, and security feel like. Weewoo has learned how to exist freely and confidently without letting anything shrink his personality.
All the lessons Weewoo gained while bonding with his foster dog sibling, Lilly, will stay with him forever, which is why we have no doubts he’ll thrive in his new home.
